Every year between October and April, gentle giants return to the warm, plankton-rich waters of Bahía de La Paz. Snorkeling alongside a whale shark — the largest fish in the ocean — is one of the most unforgettable wildlife encounters in Baja California Sur.
All operators are closely monitored and must follow responsible-tourism guidelines to protect the sharks and keep you safe in the water, so you can get close without ever touching or crowding them.
